50% tax credit
The 50% tax credit: how does it work?
It’s a French government scheme for taxpayers who use a registered home services provider: 50% of the amount you’re invoiced comes back to you.
I’m registered as a home services provider (Services à la personne) with the DREETS, the regional labour authority, under number SAP941205908, so you can claim it on your weekly meals.

half for you!
two ways to benefit
With or without the immediate advance
Without the immediate advance
You pay the full amount
- You’re invoiced for the full session, after my visit.
- At the end of the year, you receive a tax certificate to include in your tax return.
- The following year, the tax credit is deducted from your tax bill, or refunded to you.
With the immediate advance
You only pay half
- You activate your account on particulier.urssaf.fr: it’s free, with no obligation.
- After each session, you receive a payment request: you have 48 hours to approve it.
- The tax credit is applied straight away: you only pay 50%.
Example for a 4-dish package at €170. Eligible expenses are capped at €12,000 a year (i.e. €6,000 of tax credit), with possible increases: full details on impots.gouv.fr (in French).
Who qualifies?
- You must be a French tax resident and have filed at least one tax return in France.
- You must use a registered home services provider (like me).
- The service must take place in your home.
- For the immediate advance: you must have activated the option in your URSSAF account.
Event catering isn’t covered by the home services scheme, so it doesn’t qualify for the tax credit.
